Registrations for this event are closed.
The course will cost all participants $160.00 to cover TTA course documentation, administration and delivery, and refreshments for the day. Participants to bring their own lunch on the day of the course. The course will be held at the East Adelaide Table Tennis Club (Stradbroke Road, Newton) commencing at 9.00am and concluding at approximately 3.00pm.
The TOPS Coaching qualification is designed to educate coaches in the basic skills of table tennis, as well as the concepts of group management, organisation, activity safety and creating an enjoyable training environment.
The course is directed towards teachers, parents and new coaches who are involved in entry-level programs such as Spinneroos and Sporting Schools.
Course Requirements
1. Complete TTA TOPS Table Tennis Course
2. Achieve competency in all 3 Assessment Tools
• Tool 1 - Session Planning - Written - In Course Assessment
• Tool 2 - Basic Techniques & Multiball - Practical - In Course Assessment
• Tool 3 - Coaching Session - Practical - In Course Assessment
3. Be a participant or life member of TTA or a life member of an organisation
Resources included in the courses:
• TOPS Manual
• Participant Workbook
Participants will be expected to complete / have already completed the following online modules;
• Play By The Rules Modules – Child Protection, Harassment & Discrimination and Inclusive Coaching.
• General Principles of Community Coaching.
It should be noted that before a coach can undertake coaching activity in South Australia, Table Tennis South Australia requires that the coach obtain a Department of Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI) ‘working with children’ history assessment clearance
